Clear labels. Independent judgment. Useful recommendations.

Editorial: Selected and produced independently. No payment was accepted for coverage.

Hosted or invited: A meal, stay, ticket or experience was provided, but Eastokyo retained control of the coverage and conclusions.

Paid partnership: A business paid for production or placement. Sponsored work is labeled prominently before the article begins.

Selection

Independent coverage is chosen for relevance, quality, character and reader value. Invitations do not guarantee publication.

Accuracy

Names, prices, locations, dates and material claims are checked before publication. Meaningful corrections are acknowledged promptly.

Fairness

Criticism addresses specific experiences, practices or documented facts. Eastokyo does not make sweeping judgments about Japanese people or Tokyo as a whole.

Commercial Work

Payment may purchase clearly labeled creative work and distribution. It does not purchase an undisclosed independent review.

Photography

Photography is credited and published with appropriate permission. Image licensing beyond the article is agreed separately.

Corrections

Correction requests can be submitted through the contact page with the article, disputed detail and supporting information.
